HOWDY!
My name is Beau Harris. I'm a filmmaker, editor, and aspiring DP currently based in Kansas City, MO.
My work balances whimsy with midwest grit and a touch of the surreal. My background as a professional touring musician imbues my work with innate syncopation and rhythmic drive. The intersection between music and film is deeply special to me, and I love bringing musicality to my visual work.
Over the last 8 years I've worked with national bands, brands and, hopefully, you! My work spans a variety of genres including commercial, documentary and, increasingly, narrative projects. As an editor, I have created work for clients including the Kansas City Art Institute, Big Biscuit, Top Applicant, Tigerwine, and many more. As a director, my music video projects have appeared in national publications including The Needle Drop and Alternative Press. I have been an assistant editor for several documentary and reality TV projects including The Blox (Amazon Prime) and the much beloved YouTube music documentary series, Blind Covers. This year I hope to spend more time getting my hands dirty in camera and lighting departments, and continuing to develop in-and-out of the editing bay.
I currently live in Lawrence, Kansas with my partner after moving back from a few years in southern France and Spain, and I spend weekends on the road with some of the midwest's sharpest indie bands.
